Back in 2018 a company called Malco products purchased the decaying former Irwin Vise grip facility in Dewitt, Nebraska with the intention or bringing USA made locking pliers back to the market. But where does Snap on come into play? Well as many may know, Snap on tools has a long history of rebranding products under their lines, and this is no exception. After a long three year wait, we're finally getting a FIRST LOOK at what Malco Products is producing at their new Vise Grip facility in Dewitt Nebraska.

So YES, that means Snap on now has USA made vise grips. Apparently, when these new usa Vise grips finally make an appearance outside of Snap On, they'll be called eagle grips but I'm sure there will be many who still will call then eagle grip vise grips. The name Snap on Malco Eagle grip Vise grip locking pliers, is certainly a mouthful no one is gonna be willing to say.

The full polish is the best feature that separates those from all others. They have the best hand feel which makes them a joy to use.

Cool review of these pliers. Made in same building as the old vice grips.

I seen these myself. Impressive. I hardly ever use the big ones but my small ones all of the time. If they make a new 4BN (4" bent nose needle plier) I will buy several, no matter the price. Good to see your video. You are one of my original subscriptions. The large Vice Grips get beat on with hammers, no reason for chrome or polish!

80 bucks for a pair of vise grips? If Malco sells these direct to consumers at that price for let's say 1/3 of the cost $27, that's not too bad but it's still nowhere near $11 for Irwin's now. I doubt that they will even sell at 1/3 since Snap-on will not be happy. My guess is that they will go around $40 and that won't be competitive. I have USA Irwin's and Chinese Irwin's and I gotta say, for my DIY work, $11 bucks is what I would go for since they work fine for me.

They are nicely made, teeth are real precise and jaw rigidity pretty good.
Personally I don't really think through pin needed but if these can be clamped harder perhaps it is !?
Back in the day early petersen grips had 2 through pins holding top jaw to the pressed plate handle .
Malco EagleGrip pliers will be exact same as current ones rebranded snapon .
(Can't believe snapon been pushing that gripon garbage for so long)
Finish is polished nickel .
The pliers are slightly better than older usa ones but if you got a drawer full of good dewitt usa you ain't got much gain.
If you got snapon gripon rebrands or the german bollmans then difference is significant .
I not a big fan of over polished tools but these ain't bad in the hand, not as glass like as a full chrome finish .
Good to see production startup in usa during these bleak times and wish Malco the best, hopefully they put lot of effort in a produce a full range of locking grip models, market worldwide is huge if innovate and keep range and quality top of the game ...
pricing for malco brand has been released & from monday some retail channels will have eaglegrip branded on sale ... pricing will come down once hype and full retail channels become saturated ...

Urgh, if they are rebranded the stamp should say ‘Blue Point’. I was also hoping for the Snap-On Talon Grip jaws. $70 is steep but I’m a fan boy, I’ll have to see them in person before I pull the trigger.

Is there any difference between the Snap-Ons and the Eagle Grips? They look identical to me, and appear to ne coming from the same factory.

Thanks Garnett, you the man.
My USA Irwins are getting worn. I had a hack to tighten up the jaw wiggle btw.

Malco factory was purchased by snap on. They're only sold under the snap on name now. I bought mine off the truck. They're expensive but worth it.

I did not know about the wire cutters, I will have to check my old vise grips tomorrow to see if they have them.

Ouch, I'll keep buying old ones. Would like to see the pricing of non-Snap On branded pliers when they arrive. They might have a contract for the first couple years.

You don't have to get them from snap on you can buy them from Amazon cheaper from malco USA MADE heavy duty high polish i bought a pair of the 7in. I love them

So...basically they went back to what vice-grips was before they went to china and polished them more. No contest between new Irwins and old usa made vise-grips.

Little disapointng. The worse part of locking pliers is the removal when ready to unlock and your always jolted in your hand with how ever much pressure you used to lock.

And also snap on should have had comport grip options and colors. Have you checked out macs "new" locking ones?
