Interesting perspective... Often times, we go for humanoid builds automatically assuming that it is the best method because that is what our umvelt is.

Restructuring the entire project based on finding the best possible design of a hand is a unique and creative solution so hats off to you guys!

I can't wait to one day be part of MIT and pursue such projects myself with other like-minded yet diverse individuals!

I think the human hand is only ideal when interfacing with systems designed for human hands. The question then is when do we start to make things more ideal for some sort of standardized robotic appendage in order to reduce the complexity of robotics brought about by our human design requirements.
