Announcement of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry 2015

The Nobel Prize in Chemistry 2015 was awarded jointly to Tomas Lindahl, Paul Modrich and Aziz Sancar "for mechanistic studies of DNA repair".

The prize was announced by Göran K. Hansson, Permanent Secretary of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences.

Congratulations to Mr. Sancar for his works how DNA repairs itself when encountering UV. He mapped this and gave one the greatest benefits to humankind. Thus, he deserved this honor and inspired Turkish scientist who live in Turkey. Thank you so much.

Very important discovery!

All 3 prizes this year are rightly chosen. I hope Nobel committee maintain this standard even in future. It is preferable not to award anyone than awarding mediocre discoveries. This year discoveries are fantastic.
