Sonic in Frontiers definitely sounded deeper, and in turn older. My takeaway, based on the writing, serious tone, and darker story, is that Sonic was meant to be a little more mature at this point. He and his friends are seasoned heroes at this point, they’ve been through much. Though, I’d noticed, in Sonic Dream Team, his voice is much higher in pitch. Where it seems quite deep here in Frontiers.
