Evidence of global warming mounts

While parts of North America are in the middle of a deep freeze, there is new evidence that overall temperatures on the planet continue to rise. Data from the US National Ocean and Atmospheric Agency has concluded that 2013 tied with 2003 as the fourth warmest year on Earth since records began in 1880. Al Jazeera's Tarek Bazley reports.

They are basing their conclusions by using data from satellites to say its the fourth warmest year since 1880...pretty sure we didn't have satellites in 1880, so not an accurate assessment.

Even if earth is "warming", there are still two big pieces of puzzles: is it man made? and is it possible to "cool" the earth through human activities/ in-activities?
