xQc and Asmongold CALL OUT YouTube For REMOVING Dislikes

xQc, Asmongold, and other top streamers and content creators have spoken out against YouTube’s plan to remove visible dislikes from YouTube videos, calling it a huge mistake.

YouTube’s plan to remove the visible dislikes from their videos was supposed to help protect streamers and content creators from harassment and dislike attacks, but xQc went on his Twitch stream to call the move a “Huge mistake” and “moronic”.

xQc said that if you stand for “dogsh*t values” and put those terrible values into your videos, you should get the dislikes and everyone should be able to see it to see just how terrible your opinions and takes are. xQc warned that people will make trash videos full of evil things, and everyone will think the public approves because all they will see is the likes.

Amsongold agreed, saying removing the dislikes from YouTube creates misleading narratives, protecting predators and abusers from accountability from their YouTube audiences. So are xQc and Asmongold right, and this will be a shield the worst of the worst on YouTube hide behind, or is this the only way to combat hate based harassment and dislike bombing on YouTube? i use the dislike ratio so much just to know if im wasting my time on a video thats untrue or is a bad tutorial. not seeing the dislikes effectively makes that button useless and no one will click it so saying that "the creator can still see the dislikes" is just dumb. the dislike isnt just for the creator, its to let us in the community know that this video sucks/may not be correct.

Because of people's feelings being shattered over a dislike counter, now we can't even tell when a video tutorial for example is a scam or not just by clicking on the video like we could. And at the same time those channels won't even disable the like count since dislikes aren't visible.. So bullshit, been on this site since 2008 and this is the worst "ratings" related update yet.

I watch a lot of " Guide/tutorial " Videos, From DIY stuff to gaming related things. I usually saw the like/dislike ratio to see if it even worked instead of wasting my time. But now its impossible to know if people are blatantly lying, Specially low view videos that would have like 30 likes but 70 dislikes 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️
