I’ll never forget how big of a deal Yugioh was in the early 2000s. All of my friends in my neighborhood had decks and a few of us had duel disks. Getting the OG starter decks for Christmas was so sick. I’m 31 now but damn.. I never realized how great I had it. I forever cherish my childhood and Yugioh was a big part of it.

What's so wild is that little me had that card and didn't treat it well because it wasn't the same artwork as Kaiba's. I thought it was a fake blue eyes, so I think i ended up giving it away

As a kid i remember shrugging off not getting good pulls or not buying packs. As if i had better things to do, or as if there was just infinite time to do so. Not realizing how having less responsibility back then was a privilege, how time was eventually going to catch up to the game, and how valuable the cards would be. I can tell you i have great memories of seeing people pull stuff like this and i made some killer trades.
