Everyone talks about Game of Thrones and Vikings, but The Last Kingdom is so much better in every single way. There is such an emotional bond formed with this show. The music, the atmosphere, the awesome cast of characters, and Ultred himself. The Last Kingdom deserves so much more attention.

This music is a big reason why I love the show. They know how to perfectly place the music during the most emotive scenes. The last meeting between Alfred and Uhtred being a prime example. I hope Netflix keeps this excellent show alive so that all of author Bernard Cornwell's story-line can be told. Great books, great show!

I started watching "The Last Kingdom" back when I was waiting for the third season of "Vikings" - little did I know that I was going to encounter such a masterpiece, which turned into one of my favorite shows of all time ♥ Although Vikings let me down and became disappointing, The Last Kingdom stays strong. I can't wait for the next season! ♥

What I love is that the show is historically accurate in many ways; Uhtred was a real person, although he lived during a different era, for example, while Aethelflaed is revered as the Warrior Queen to this day, and Alfred really did hide in a marsh. But Uhtred himself, while being a fictional addition to the time frame, well represents all the nameless and faceless warriors who helped Alfred, Edward, Aethelstan, Aetheflaed, and all the rulers who came both before and after carve out their kingdoms throughout time, right down to the present day - the loyal, selfless, dedicated warriors of all shapes, sizes, and genders, who just do their duty no matter the cost, not caring for fancy tombs or recognition in chronicles.
(It's such a stunning and breath-taking series on so many levels including visually, and the fact that some of the central actors are pretty easy on the eyes and well-cast is very nice, too.)
Everyone that I have suggested the show to have fallen in love with it, and learned something along the way.
Proud to be a Dane, by the way.

I was traveling from Germany to Italy 2 days ago, and while looking at the Eastern Alps with their snow capped peaks, the crystal clear streams and the little towns scattered here and there, I was listening to this masterpiece.
The light was shining through. It was a perfect day; the last day of the year.
Well, for the millionth time I realized how deeply connected I am to this sound.
The thing is I get so caught up from my sorrows and all the technology around, that I forget this primary need for nature and music. Especially this music. It has something peculiar.
It touched me in such a way that I started crying... I couldn't stop, so many emotions❤️‍🔥

I have never been so emotionally attached and compelled by ANY series as this one. The roller coaster ride of vengeance to pure hate to love and then to forgiveness was sometimes too much...IN ONE EPISODE! LONG LIVE UHTRED THE BOLD!

Up until 15th of March I was also one of those poor souls but then I don't know how the series popped into my YouTube recommendation list and I binge watched all 5 seasons along with the movie within a span of 8 days...After watching this, i now know that how much underrated this series is...But i know one thing that #TLK will always have a special place in my ❤...

Last Kingdom is by far an addiction...it just gets better if that is possible....best storyline, best direction and production, best PURE ANCESTRAL MAGIC! makes me proud to be mix of ANGLO SAXON, CELT and VIKING ~ thankyou ancestors for bringing me here!
