Thank you for inviting this brother to your podcast. The part where he touched on not feeling like he belongs in one group or not resonated a lot with me. I'm a chinese adoptee, raised by canadian catholics, and I reverted to Islam about 2 years go, alhamdulillah. It's a strange combination to have to deal with, subhan Allah. But yes, frankly I still struggle to go to the masjid for Salat outside of Ramadan. Not to say that I have had bad experiences or interactions there, but I think I just have a trauma of rejection and isolation. Alhamdulillah, it has gotten better with my family and they do not comment on my hijab or attack my religion anymore. I also have been working on learning arabic so I can read the Quran and understand the khutbahs insha Allah. My advice to you brother is to continue to educate yoursef and to read on our beautiful religion and the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), you will notice how quickly both sides can shift their attitude and open their hearts when they are witness to sincerity and knowledge. May Allah ease your hardships and answer you brother Dawud.

MashaAllah, I realized something beautiful - when young reverts are asked where they see themselves in 5 years, many of them answer, "Hopefully married, inshaAllah." It’s truly heartwarming, especially when you think about the audience - carefree, sometimes wild youngsters, particularly in the West. The idea of prioritizing marriage, let alone openly aspiring for it, feels so rare these days.

10:29
It was narrated from ‘Abdullah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
“Islam began as something strange and will go back to being strange,
so glad tidings to the strangers.” It was said: “Who are the strangers?’
He said: “Strangers who have left their families and tribes.”
