i’ve always been a sucker for a good emotional gut punch of nostalgia, and though i couldn’t consider all my methods exactly healthy, they’re always extremely effective.

i wrote this song about how it feels to watch someone you loved become nothing more than a face through a screen. that gut wrenching feeling you get seeing them become someone you barely recognize, hoping that even if it’s none of your business and will hardly do you any good to know, maybe it’ll offer some form of closure. (it never does)

though i’ve graduated to healthier and less self-destructive forms of coping, i think it’s a timeless experience that isn’t unique to just me.

if there’s any part of you that resonates with any of that, i think you’ll find a piece of yourself in this melancholic groove of a song too.
