@Ryan Townsend Golf, That is not the rule. Rule 19-1 applies and you play the ball as it lies because the bird is considered an outside agency.

The ball didn't hit the bird, but the bird pushed the ball and changed the direction

The bird tried to eat the ball while it was in the air. The bird saw the ball, thought it might be food, realized it wasn't, and spit it out. Very impressive to catch a golf ball while flying, but regardless, the ball did not hit the bird. The bird hit the ball.

I live on a golf course, went to use my bathroom glanced out the window there was a group at a tee off about 250 yards away looking distressed, saw them walk down a circle a bird that they had just accidently hit. I got my binoculars and sure as sh... The odds of that happening and me glancing right then was once in a life time. I'm sure thats not the first time....! :(
