When asked about the recent dramatic increase in popularity of W, she replied that it has always been great, it’s just that recently more people have become aware of it. When asked about the 2024 rookie class she added that stars like Angel Reese, Cameron Brink, and Caitlin Clark have had an impact also. She added that some have their own shows on social media, and this had an impact also. I thought this was kind of a weird way to describe what happened this year. Although, Brink will likely be a great player, unfortunately her injury at the beginning of the season made her impact minimal. More about Caitlin Clark for sure. Is this another example of the toxicity in the W? Not sure because I don’t know much about RM.

They have been saying AT was first team from the beginning of the season. She has a previous torn labrum and shoots with 1 hand. She lives inside the lane and never gets 3 seconds called against her.

I remember seeing the all-W teams a couple weeks ago. Pretty much, they got it right -- perhaps, have Hamby instead of Nneka or Jonquel. AT -- as much as I dislike her bullying -- probably deserved first team, but if I were constructing an actual first team to play others, I would have A'ja, Stewie and Phe Collier up front, with Clark at the point (and either Ionescu or Arike at the off-guard.)

One thing for context about Clark and defense; the Hawkeye fans have all the defense you could ever want from their football team. I think a decent amount of the Clark effect originally came from that. Its why they sold out this season as well. Clark was a big draw, but that's because she was part of a high scoring offense.

Personally, I think the biggest problem the WNBA has is the scoring. I'd start offering bonuses to players for games where both teams break 100 points and things like that. I don't think the league understands how damaging it is to have scores in the 60s and 70s.
