This talk kicks off a new cybersecurity speaker series titled “Tales From the Cybersecurity Front” that will show you the endlessly varied real world of cybersecurity. From kinda sorta grey hat hackers to defenders who make do with antivirus and duct tape, to incident responders who have dealt with some of the world’s biggest breaches, and to researchers who mix cybersecurity with genetic engineering, this collection of speakers will demonstrate how theory turns into practice. Wendy Nather, newly minted Senior Cybersecurity Fellow at the Strauss Center, is here to describe what she’s encountered in her 25 years of experience as a CISO, industry analyst, and research director that doesn’t often make it into lesson plans or headlines.
