If these cities only had five or ten homeless, then one could say something was wrong with those individuals. When one sees hundreds, then something is bad wrong with the system,

I'm also tired of places being 1500 for a studio apartment plus you need to pay all your utilities so it is around 2000 when you make working full time as an interpreter 2500. Then add to pay for health insurance, food, gasoline. In one moment I will be also homeless.

These folks that are camped out don't want services, they want to stay where they are. If they get a shelter or a home, they can't act out, drink and do drugs.

I dealt with homeless people everyday while working private security in downtown Tulsa. Everyday and every night I had to run them off our commercial property.
There are 5 homeless shelters alone in the downtown Tulsa area. Several churches that offer free meals and help. I'm telling you most of them don't want help. Some even admitted to me they'd been banned from the shelters.
With most of them homelessness is their choice! Some of them are drug addicts and some are mentally off. We could call the cops and all they would do is come and run them off. They would NEVER arrest them and take them away. One Tulsa police officer told me he had had them urinate and puke in his patrol car. All they can do is arrest them for trespassing. But they have no money to pay the fine. It's just an ongoing problem that's left for society to have to deal with.
When they shut down state mental hospitals that's when it started.

This is terrible, the Mayor should be doing something about this.

The only way to fix this is by contacting your County Health Dept. They MUST investigate and document what find and act if there are violations. Politicians are useless, don't waste your time.

Winston Salem is a very blue city, so they voted for this.

Money for smokes, alcohol, and drugs, but not for rent of course. Smh Some people just don't want to be productive, decent, upstanding, hard working folks, but those of us who are, are forced to deal with their nonsense. When people start taking things into their own hands to rid their neighborhoods of this trash, then who's going to be in trouble? The decent people sick of these dregs on society, that's who.
