Ancient Part Glitch | How to with Tips and Tricks BotW

Ancient Part Glitch isn't a new glitch, but lots of people have had some problems and have asked me some questions. This is my take on explaining the Ancient Part Glitch.

Now you can have lots of ancient cores, screws, shafts, gears and spring. You can use them to upgrade you Ancient Gear, buy ancient arrows and Ancient weapons.

Edit: after all the comments saying that it will always work as they are not updating the game anymore I have finally decided to put that fact in this comment.... It's always gonna work because they are not updating it any more !!!

Still works as of March 2024, did not have the blood moon break the glitch or crash the game when I used the Lanayru guardian. Thanks for the guide!

Here’s a helpful tip: If you’re doing the desert one (which is in my opinion the easiest once you get rid of 2 guardians), if you don’t have amiibo, there’s a chest up on Daval peak you can pull out of the snow and use. Just don’t let it roll too far away when dropping it down the cliffs otherwise it’ll despawn.

Also I’m pretty sure your game won’t crash when you open menus and stuff if you’ve already collected the parts before.

As of January 2022, this still works like a charm. 🌟 Thank you so much for such an awesome and thorough guide! Fellow players, I highly recommend wearing Majora’s Mask to keep monsters and stalmonsters from attacking you during your travels! (Does not include wolves, keese, chuchus, octoroks, ofc.)

Tips for when i did it: the guardian at hyrule castle is the easiest but i recommend to walk your path and kill all the guardians. there are like six of them and other enemies that bother you. After that, then you save before you knock the guardian over. There is a big metal door extremely close to the guardian that you can push with. Keep in mind that cores are very rare, it took me around 15 tries to get one. Good luck!

For anyone wondering, if you move against the guardian with ANY metal object at the same time as the metal object, link will gain infinite mass and be able to move any object ;)

I’ve always been skeptic of game glitches and haven’t tried many before. I finally decided to try this one on a 2nd file I started because I didn’t want to farm for the cores again and it actually worked. I was so surprised and happy! Thanks for the tutorial!!!

For the one that you have to push across the two bridges you can use cryonics on the edges to make sure the guardian does not fall off

As of June 2022, this glitch still works just the same. The game is no longer updating, so we can assume the glitch will work forever. While you are collecting the parts, I highly recommened wearing the 2 star rubber armour, or if you have it unlocked, the thunder helm. From my testing, after a while of being stationary, no enemies spawn, meaning the only threat is lightning, regardless of if you have a weapon there is a chance for lightning to strike you. ⚡ Wearing these will prevent any lighting damage, and if you are standing on the guardian, neither will the fire, meaning with the right turbo controller, after the setup you can afk it!

I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this but the two guardians in water in Gerudo Canyon just above wasteland tower are also able to do the trick as well. I stumbled upon this by accident.

An important note: If you execute this glitch, be sure the guardian isn't on its head/in a position where you can't get access to the parts when the glitch starts. After the glitch starts, the guardian is almost impossible to move. Things like climbing also do not work due to lag. I went into my inventory and the game crashed, meaning I lost all my progress since my last save. I did not keep any of my items since then, including all the parts I collected. I'll have to travel all the way back to the place I got the guardian and make the trek again.

First time trying this--you make it look so easy! Did the Daval Peak guardian on the Western desert route and had to do it three times to get it right 😩 First attempt, totally spaced it once the glitch started and tried to drop my shield via inventory; crashed 🤦‍♀️ Second attempt, the glitch started and I was wearing desert gear through nightfall, losing hearts like crazy in the cold 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ 10 minute heat resistance elixir + Rito gear + lots of anxiety = third time's the charm 🥴😂 999 Ancient Cores is a beautiful sight 😍

As of August 2022, this still works!
My first time doing it; I made some of the mistakes you mentioned (I went into my inventory to check something before I realized the glitch had started; the frame rate slowed considerably for a min but then I started collecting parts and it fixed itself...huh)
AND there was a blood moon while I was doing it but it STILL WORKED! I was really worried about that so huge sigh of relief.

P.S. The Lizal Forked Boomerang works for moving the guardian...probably not the best choice as I dropped it a few times and was unable to grab it with Magnesis bc of the sand (remedied by picking it up, dropping a different weapon and dropping the boomerang on top of that) but it was the only weapon I had on me that worked.

I now have 999 ancient cores and screws, thanks!

The guardians at Hyrule city kept attacking me... so daddy got a fresh set of ancient armour

Here's what I noticed if you already got the stones that regularly drop when you flip over one of the four guardians and you don't know what your going to get then do this. Right after a blood moon choose one of the easier guardians to move. "The one in the Mountains going to the first desert shrine" if you move the guardian the first time to that location to start the glitch and don't get what you want run inside the shrine, fast travel back to mountain location and repeat the process. I tried this twice, meaning I moved the guardian 4 times for the first set try. Each time it gave me these drops. 1. Move = screws + shafts 2. Move = Screws + Shafts + Gear 3. Move = Gears + Screws 4. Move = Shaft + Mini Core. Again I tried this 2x with same guardian during the same blood moon and got the same result. I recommend cooking up a speed movement dish also.

For anyone who doesn't have amiibos, you can still get a chest if you go onto your home screen, go onto the news at the bottom (in red), then go onto find channels and find 'Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - Tips from the Wild', and go onto any article that gives you a present (hopefully you saved your game beforehand) then go onto the button that says 'Play The Legend of Zelda tm . Breath of the Wild', it will ask you to restart your game, but go onto it and it will give you a chest with the item from the article and you can use that! It will appear where you last saved, so where you respawn, so you migth want to save next to one of the guardians. Hope this helped!

DUDE I FOUND THE BEST WAY TO EXIT. While I was struggling trying to flip the guardian right side up- I had 3 crashes lol, and one of them had cores, shafts, springs, everything. Anywho- use an unopened chest to drag the dead guardian- then when you've had enough, open the chest. Your place will auto save, it won't crash, and when you load the game the glitch is resolved and you still have your parts :)
