CERT (Corrections Emergency Response Team)

The Kentucky Corrections Emergency Response Team (CERT) is made up of DOC staff from across the state. CERT members receive specialized training in responding to and safely diffusing emergency situations.

When I was a kid. There was a T.V. shot called SWAT. I told myself one day I would be on a SWAT Team. Day Hell! I was on the E-Squad for seven before it became the CERT teams. 19 years in all. We trained hard not one drill went by that a troop did not go to the ER. Sometimes 4 or 5. I my day we had a moto, IF YOU NEED THEM HURT CALL CERT!!!

Dad used ti be in CERT, either was a Sergeant in the correctional op or Lieutenant. Left around 2016/2018

Earned my E-Squad pin in 1997, at Tomlinson Range... first joint training/competition at GRCC a few weeks later!
