Our Van Life in BC journey has gone from mountains to sea as we arrive on the Sunshine Coast - only a short ferry hop from Vancouver, yet feels like a world away! Let's see what there is to see here & what things to do on the Sunshine Coast BC.

After a quick journey from the top of the Canadian Rockies back down to Vancouver we then board the ferry over to the Sunshine Coast. After months of lakes and mountains, we were ready for the change and so happy to be at the coast.

Our adventure here begins in the beautiful town of Gibsons. We then move up the coast to Sechelt where we get our first sailing experience on the Sechelt Inlet. We visit Smugglers Cove and learn about the cool history of this incredible bay. And we wander around countless marinas taking in the sea air and dreaming about boat life…

A long running Canadian TV series, "The Beachcombers" was filmed in Gibson & Molly's Reach Cafe originated as a set for the show. It was a family friendly Sunday evening show that came on after Disney. You can fide episodes on YouTube

Salt Spring Island is a neat island to visit. You can catch it in Swartz Bay in Victoria. Walk only costs 10 bucks and there are busses that can take you to the nearest town center. I went last year and I find it an interesting place. I only stayed for a few hours. The ferry going back to the Vancouver island is for free.
