Here's some key points to know for sepsis before you take your nursing school exams…

⚡️ This is a MEDICAL EMERGENCY and it's reducing blood flow to the organs.

💡 Key Critical Thinking Points:

👉 The HR and RR will increase to try to increase blood flow.

👉 Mental status changes happen if the brain isn't getting the blood it needs to function.

👉 Less blood flow to the kidneys and other organs causes decreased urine output and decreased pulses.

❗️ Frequent reassessments are KEY!!

🩸 The goal is to increase blood flow to the organs: fluids, vasopressors, oxygen.
