I recently took my copy of this album to an Alice Cooper meet & great to be signed... He got a kick out of seeing it... He told me the reason they decided to do the album was to get the opportunity to work with legendary Beatles producer George Martin... Alice did the first cut just like John had done, which led Martin to say "That's great, but I'd like to hear how Alice Cooper would sing it" to which Cooper (very matter of factly)replied "Ok, I'll show you how Alice Cooper would sing it!" ...Thanks for the post, Great Song!

Ironic Genius through n' through. Man those Bee Gees were the kings of harmony while Alice Cooper was the king of some other realm.

Alice being Alice, and Bee Gees being Bee Gees, and unusual combination but they sound great!

Damn! Great Alice track! The harmonies give it an even creepier vibe, and this could have easily been on an Alice album.

My three-year-old son really likes this movie, although this scene creeps him out a bit. I played this song for him when we were listening to the soundtrack album, and not only did he sing all of the words, he did it exactly the way Alice does here, and it was a total laugh-riot!

Very eerie version. But, great cover from Alice Cooper and The Bee Gees.

I love the original so much and it came from Yoko trying to play Beethoven Moonlight Sonata backwards and then John was on the couch or something and heard it and got the idea for this song. But. I love Alice Cooper too and this fucking fantastic.

I saw this movie when I was ten, absolutely loved it... but this scene frightened me to pieces! For a long time afterward, whenever it showed on TV I would watch it each time but leave the room each time this came on.

Incidentally, each time I kept trying to read what the name on Father Sun's temple picture said, but all I could read was "The Temple" as the rest was all blurry. So last night I finally decided to look it up and try to find out.

Turns out the building is "The Temple of Electronic Cosmology".

So Alice Cooper goes into the studio to add a lead vocal to the Bee Gees' superbly precise harmonies recalling the harmonies on the original Beatles track and tries to sound like John Lennon. Then George Martin suggests that he sing it like Alice Cooper. Alice delivers a spoken vocal that sounds like Truman Capote on helium. Then he does his scene as Father Sun, a character not affiliated with any Beatles song I know of, and at the end Barry Gibb throws him across the room to get back at him for his lead vocal marring his, Robin's and Maurice's harmonies. Alice lands face down in a cream pie while the Bee Gees hijack a tuba. Then Alice lifts his head up as a boxing match plays on a TV set and plops his face back into the pie. Say . . . WHAT?

Oh yeah, who won the boxing match? :-D
