the only species that is TOXIC enough to think this is a way of "toughening" a child up, are hoomans. This is the him showing the puppy he's the in charge, the puppy was more than likely annoying the big dog, so the big dog said stop! nothing more. You can draw millions of conclusions from a video that starts with the big dogs mouth around the puppies head, and doesnt give any context. That wouldnt be considered "showing your son how to be tough", that would be showing him how to be a bully. He's gonna think its okay to pick on the kids who are smaller than he is. Cause i mean, thats how he was taught to be tough, right? smdh

He’s not hurting the pup, well not seriously. Surprisingly. He’s doing the dog equivalent of spanking. He’s teaching the boy baby not to root for milk on the male father. He was also helping the female go to the restroom. Pups need to be triggered to urinate just like kittens it takes them a while to regulate and those are only a few weeks old. He appeared to treat them differently because they behaved differently. Nothing else.

The first pup was teething on dad's leg, and so dad issued a correction since the pup wasn't listening.
Second pup wasn't misbehaving, and so wasn't corrected.
