Guys you don’t need to CUT YOUR FLF TO DO THIS!!! All you need to do is pull off a healthy or even somewhat healthy leaf from your plant, stick just the very tip of the bottom of the leaf in water, stick that on a nice sunny window seal then just have a little patience & watch her sprout her new roots & then once she has a nice set of roots just transfer that over into a small pot with very good draining soil (I mix my own of cactus soil, half/half perlite, a little drizzle of peat & may throw in just a dabble of volcanic rock) then stick that also in a nice sunny place & watch her do her Thang! You’ll be surprised what some of your plants can & will do with just a little help & patience! I’ve got well over 200+ plants, been growing since I first learned to crawl…I’ve got several FLF trees big, small & rooting but I have 2 special ones rn that are both well over 7ft tall that I actually grew myself from just the leaf alone! BOTH trees weee actually my very first experiment trying the propagation of the leaf by itself & here we are just over 4 years later & they are taller than me! I’ve got a ton of special plants/trees that I am very proud of that’s for sure but I’m very serious when I say that those 2 are very special to me & remind me daily of the things I am capable of accomplishing if I just don’t ever give up even when things fail, keep pushing, stay motivated & just have some patience!! Just remember that FLF trees along thousands of other plants (such as a rubber plant, a magnolia tree etc) DO NOT need to be cut up to propagate! Majority of them can be done with just a little leaf! Hope this helps guys…Happy Planting & God Bless! 🤞😉❤️

I have 3 starts from small suckers that came off the base of my flf. They root up strong. Mama plant has 3 strong main stalks. Thanks for a great video. Love that you show all the way to the roots!

What happens to the stem left in the pot?

If you leave the bottom part in a sunny window, and vitamins on the soil, and a lot of patience, it can remain alive! ♥

You put fertilizer in the water when the cuttings have no roots yet?

I have a fiddle leaf that looks exactly like this but has rust on the leaves and is over watered. It's been outside for 3 months and has been rainy and cold here. I honestly thought it was going to die but hasn't so I'd like to try and save it. Do you suggest doing this or should I somehow stableize it before chopping the top off?

Do you recommend cutting a very large leaf (in proportion to the stem length) crosswise to reduce water loss, for proper photosynthesis? I’ve seen it done. And I think that’s the reason people do it. Thanks.

Not propagating. You're only growing roots higher up on the plant. Would have been better to actually propagate more plants with all those wasted nodes you discarded!
