Thanks for the up close and personal video! One thing tho, that ain't me workin' with the Heads in Sigma NY, but he could be my stunt double:) I did do some work at SIgma NY, but there was ANOTHER Latvian working there- Doug Grinberg who was an engineer there. But I did work on a lot "famous" keyboards before joining Sigma at the New York areas 1st authorised synth repair shop - Triple S Electronics, located in Belleville, NJ. Any of the bigger acts going thru NY would bring their gear in to have it serviced and back in the 80s, synths were in constant need of calibration. We used to get a lot of free passes to shows- including The Talking Heads (at one of the shows being filmed for Sop Making Sense film). Gabriel, Bowie, Billy Joel, . etc... The gog at Sigma was interesting, go to know Joe Tarsia, and all the on staff engineers there. The console that is open in the pics was a Sphere Eclipse C. An interesting piece of work, and the only one I have ever seen in my life. Me and the staff had fun whenever we could get away with it, butI did get some emergency calls to come in at all hours to "put out some fires"..worst was whan a prominent producer named Nick M. spilled a coke into the B room console. Anyway, I too came in on an empty Sunday to do an unauthorised session with my band there:) Pre DAW days, all analogue equipment, except for them new fangled 4 bit sampling delays:)
In any case, I moved to Latvia back in 1994. after it regained its independence, to open up my own studio and have been there ever since:)
