Dear Rhett & Claire, it is great to hear you are both doing well. Ignore all the negative comments. In your vlog, you have both expressed your sincere appreciation to all those involved during this unfortunate situation. You even expressed your concern towards others by initially not being at a "quarantine" hotel. If people listen correctly, this experience took place before vaccination was required and before the statistics were so high. You were traveling at the time to remote islands, and not in crowded areas. Please know that your purpose of this vlog, to educate the viewers through your experience is appreciated and we trust it to be understood by viewers that it was not to complain or show any disrespect. Just to be clear, please pin this post. When this happened (June 2021) PCR test facility is not yet available in Belitung. All PCR test sampling from Belitung must be taken to Bangka island the capital province of Belitung. It takes 30 minutes flight or 5 hours by speed boat (which only available 2 times a week). Please also note extra treatment provided by local government which might not available even if you are citizen (tax payer) of Belitung: Local government send ambulance to pick up them at Lalucia hotel. Local government provide free facilities and food for quarantine, yes bathroom was suck but it's the best available free facility in the island. Local government provide ambulance to take them to hotel 30km outside town in the middle of the night, to help Rheit & Claire move to their requested hotel. The hotel services which was chosen by Rhett and Claire might not provide the services as expected, but it's not due to local government. Please see from video, local government send medical team several times to their hotel 30km outside town to check them, do PCR test and another antigen test. Guys, if you are local Indonesian, do you think local government will provide this services, sending ambulance and medical team several times to serve you at the hotel ? By the way, except for the Immigration (which I am not so sure) and result of PCR test, Rhett and Claire didn't complaint about local government. However, I hate to see there is so many local people taking picture on them.

Mungkin si mba nya ngarep dg resort seharga rp. 1.2m bisa dapet yg kayak di Nihi Sumba kali 🤦😊.
Kadang tu gue suka bingung sama review2 yg beginian dan judulnya itu seringnya "worth it ga sih?" Ya kl itu mah bukan worth it lg tapi udah beda kelas, mba.
Dan lagi seringkali para tourist asing suka ngeremehin aturan passport vaccine sebelum melancong, akhirnya jd ngerepotin banyak orang karena embassy nya sendiri malah ga se-care nitijen indonesia 😆.

You guys go to remote places and without being vaccinated. That means you're crazy. The medical people might not hv handled foreigners for a long time. Even if you get vaccinated, it might not be accepted in your country since early vaccinations, if I'm not mistaken is Sinophac. Now, in Jakarta at least Pfizer and Moderna are available.

At the start you said you had two antigen tests which both were positive. It’s unlikely that two tests were incorrect with false positives (the FP rate is much lower than the FN rate). You may have had regular flu, and you did mention some symptoms of that. It was not wrong of the authorities to be on the safe side and keep you there in quarantine, esp cuz of the Delta variant. And even if you had a PCR test done right away you wouldn’t have had results until at
Least 7 days later, which is how long you were there. They prob tested you again on the last day to see if your flu symptoms and contagiousness were still active or gone. When they were gone they reasonably allowed you to travel again. They didn’t do anything wrong, and any complaints about the testing is uncalled for. When you travel like you do during Covid, esp while the Delta variant is rampant, you assume the risks that you end up like this, and that takes any right to complain away, esp since you aren’t even vaccinated, which proves you are consciously assuming risks.

as far as i know, antigen test is quite accurate in detecting positive covid. false negative more likely to happen, but false positive is very unlikely. hope you guys are ok now, both physically and mentally

I see why you were stressed about the accomodation situation, I totally get it, however it's so cool that for people that don't have a choice there's a place for them to stay for free with three meals a day! You're right, quarantine in New Zealand is like $5, 000NZD 😲
