I think this skin makes her look joyful. Irelia comes across as a very serious character so having her in a little bit of a goofy yet charming costume that makes her seem joyous is just fun

Aviator works so well for her especially more if you make yourself familiar with Irelias lore. Young woman who saw her friends and siblings die in the noxian invasion and for fighting back becomes the symbol of resistance for those also willing to fight back. turning that into a young joyful aircraft pilot really fits well, it seems like something she'd rather do than fighting to keep invaders out of her home.

Looking at all the other skins, I’d say it is a fair argument. For all her other splash arts, she keeps the exact same face (with various levels) of “calm and focused.” Not that it is a bad thing, but it does feel like if you were to cut out all the faces and ask people to guess which one was which, it could be a touch of a challenge to know which one is which if she didn’t have something in front of her face.

And then we have this skin where… She’s smiling. She’s happy and in turn, kind of makes us feel happy too with the positivity she is giving emulating. Add on top of that how this skin does something rather unique with her than just various levels of how she usually is and it’s fair to make that case for this skin.

Aviator is a fun skin on a character in desperate need of a fun skin. Sure, there’s still the implication of war themes, like all of Irelia’s skins, but it also feels… free. And isn’t freedom just so Ionian?

I love the retro postcard splash art, it has a nostalgic feel. It also looks wholesome and cute and like an old pin-up at the same time.
I just wish they'd made her model look happy like she is in the splash art.

I also love this skin and any time anyone asks me why I just say it's because she looks incredibly cute. I don't have anything else to add - she's got such a cute smile on, the blades fit well as propellers, the little salute she's doing, the simple outfit looks good on her, and the hat and goggles with her hair just looks adorable too. What a cute skin!

While others Irelia skins do the "I'm balance, but also a great warrior" concept, Aviator is just, I don't know but I see this skins and I think she'll tell me a silly dumb joke and I will laugh so hard for no reason, I love this skin
