Remember when we were told by the GOP that allowing airlines to merge and buy each other leading to fewer airlines, flights and competition was going to be good for consumers and the country? Remember when we actually had competition and choice, and airlines like Northwest, Continental and US Airways ?

When did the Fourth of July become a traveling holiday anyway? When I was a kid (and now in my 50s), it’s more fun to grill burgers and shoot off bottle rockets, maybe drive into Birmingham and watch the fireworks over Red Mountain.

Stating the airline cancellation problem on "number of cancelled flights" is misleading. It should be percent. For example, 20, 000 cancellations out of 2 million flights is only 1%.

NBC News, Thank you for comparing prices to 2019. I’m tired of prices being compared to last year or last month. Neither makes sense as a means of comparison (comparing prices to last year makes no sense because prices were wonky last year due to the pandemic—and comparing to last month is just too short of a timeframe for most items).
