We always felt better when my Dad could finally be persuaded to slide the A/C knob in the Dart Wagon to the on position and increase the fan. We had the car for four years before I realized there was no factory A/C installed. My parents acted like it was working mostly in the front seat and we tended to believe it.

I am a kid who survives being in the back of a ford ranger with a camper shell. It had a sliding glass window to the front and I’d stick my head through it to talk to my parents. I thought I was living the high life in the back of that truck, with my folding lounge chair and my bomb box. Good times!

She's funny at storytelling but not so much at stand up comedy. It reminds me of sitting around listening to family stories.

If that had been ME, I would have said; "Fine, but I'm driving, and YOU are riding in the back with the kids." I bet he would have found a different solution REAL fast.

But then, when WE were kids, we fought over who GOT to ride in the back of our grandpa's truck. It didn't have a camper shell, but it had tool bins on the sides making the sides about 3½ feet high, about equal with the top of the cab. Which meant that if you sat down you couldn't SEE anything but SKY and part of the vehicle behind us. So we would ride standing up. It got to be a competition to see who could ride the longest while balancing without touching something with anything but our feet. A competition I'm proud to say I usually won (I was the oldest). Not even unexpected stop signs could make me loose my balance.

Which has come in pretty HANDY now that I'm getting older, Weebles wobble, but we DON'T fall down!😉
