Of course it runs, it's a slant six. Keep the slant six! Don't fix what's not broken.

Whoever owned that Duster before loved it with the 6 banger.
I would just improve it and leave the same engine in it. The guy was definitely into High Performance😊😊😊

Keep that ole slant six, that thing sounds absolutely Really looking forward to hearing that thing screaming down the road wide open, especially if it has a cam like you think it does!

My first car in 1972 without all the goodies. $2295 financed for 3 years paid for working building pump jack panels. Thanks for the memories.

Those slant sixes are good engines. I'd keep it as is.

That bit at the end with the army truck was cool. I bet your neighbors are never surprised by anything they see you drive past their houses anymore. 🤣

Keep it as is. It's a snapshot in time. Slant 6's run forever and the vintage speed parts make it even cooler.

Oh man! You have to give that slant 6 a chance to shine.

Really cool lil duster, I’d leave the slant 6 in it and fix it up. Everybody does the v8 swaps anymore honestly, it’s cool seeing a hopped up slant 6 still in it. Glad you guys saved it, honestly it doesn’t look too bad definitely worth fixing up.

In 1974 when I was 16 years old I delivered a brand new 6 cylinder Duster from Denver to a dealership in Montrose, Colorado. I was in heaven driving a brand new car at 16 years old! Not sure how my dad arranged for me to do so but I certainly wasn’t about to object! The drive there was a lot more fun than the Greyhound bus ride back to Denver.
I sure enjoy your videos! My in-laws had a GMC motorhome back in the 80’s. It brings back some great family memories.

Love the old Slant Sixes! Had a bunch of them. You definitely need to adjust the valves, Michael. When they are set right, you can't barely hear them! I also love my old Super Six 225 with the Carter BBD 2 barrel set up from a 318. They ran really strong also.

First truck had the 225 leaning tower of power. When that one died we put a Super Slant 6 called the 275 we pulled it out of a 1970’s Duster. All I’m saying is let it ride my man.

Normally I would say it has to have a V8. But this 225 is an exception. That thing sounds fantastic and I bet you it has some nice power as well. Do it up man!
