Delegations from 50 African countries are gathering in Beijing for a summit focused on strengthening trade relations, with China urging leaders to import more Chinese goods in exchange for loans and investments. Despite concerns over debt, African nations remain willing to borrow from China, which provided over $4.6 billion in loans last year. David Monnier, Director of the Centre for African China Studies at the University of Johannesburg, told Al Jazeera that China's growing influence in Africa through large infrastructure projects highlights the mutual dependency between Africa and China in the current geopolitical climate.

Yet Africa owes most of its debt to IMF, World Bank and the West. So let the narrative reflect fact not propaganda

Nobody was saying a word when Africa was in Debt to Europeans! Now its a problem when they are getting a better deal. The European only took, China is building. Fair trade can never be looked down upon

Let’s set the record straight Africa owes more debt to the west than it does China and there is no solution to fix the problem yet you speak about Chinese debt which was accrued as a result of infrastructure and projects that benefit the economy, but then again you would ignore the facts

When the Chinese enter Africa, they bring economic construction.
when Westerners enter Africa, they are usually better at criticizing Africa's internal affairs and human rights rather than providing construction.

No one mention China forgave debts of Africa many times before. Did IMF ever do that?

Lending money to African countries can be risky but, probably not as risky as leaving it in Amercan banks.

There's a report a few days ago by an Indian media WION reported that China is sensing diplomatic insolated.
But I can see there are more world countries leaders, diplomats and politicians visiting China in the last 2 months than India in the last 2 years.😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂.
Indians never disappoint the world with their jokes 🤣🤣🤣🤣

People around the world, if you want to see a shared future for mankind (by China's initiatives) then you need to stand with China. Support China to support each other so that everyone can look out for each other.

Troubles and problems are there to be solve with China. Having said, Africans shouldn't live out of their means. Planning is vital and the Africans must work hard to make co operation work.

Hope Africans can depend on its own people one day. These concrete works are like dangling carrots, or how casinos let you win in the beginning before they take all of your money. China’s air, water, agriculture and food are good examples of what might happen to your country.

China and Africa cooperation is a win win relationship that will show the world, this is the only to go into the future. China is showing the world how a world leader is suppose to act.

China thinks strategically in long time frame, while the west is more towards shorter time frame and sporadic, I would suggest even knee-jerk fashion. It is a know fact that China, especially Chinese diasporas have been living and thriving in Africa, As per the norm, Chinese diasporas are traders.

I recall soon after China signed a long term economic deal with Saudi Arabia, accompanied by a very impressive welcoming ceremony, as opposed to Joe Biden's "fist bump" with Saudi prince MBS, it spurred the US into action, and promptly organized a, "African Summit" in the US, promising $50 Billions for African development. If that is not a knee-jerk reaction, I don't know what it is !

China regards Africa as an investment as well as a partnership. It is a partnership because if Africa grows, it's market would grow accordingly, and that means Chinese export to Africa would do so too. So China might be losing money in some respects of its investment, it would recoup the loses eventually, in the long term. That is why China and the west don't think the same way.

But why? Because China doesn't have election cycles like the west. Once a deal or decision is made, it goes on to fruition, be it a loss or gain. The west would flip and flop at every election. Mind you, superiority complex also plays a big part in how the US/west regards Africa. Trump called Africa "Shit=house country". Well, Africa is not exactly a country, it is a continent. But one can't expect Americans to know better, can we?

From what I see, the loans IMF gives are for administrative expenses and things that often can't be tracked for impact. Maybe that is not always the case but this is a black pot anyway
