Lucy discusses recent changes in the law regulating tourist rentals linked to the recent tourists go home protests in Spain

Benidorm is located on the Costa Blanca, Spain. Famous for it's beaches, bars, restaurants, nightlife, entertainment, hotels, sightseeing, party atmosphere, excursions, tours and sun. It is not only one of the top holiday destinations in Spain but one of the best tourist hotspots in the whole of Europe. British and Irish tourists love to travel to Benidorm, being one of the best resorts for a package holiday, but it is also well loved by many European travellers, and of course the Spanish themselves. It is an all year round holiday resort, the good weather means there is something to offer visitors of all nationalities and ages, and you will always find things to do and places to go. On our YouTube channel we bring you travel vlogs which show you in depth everything Benidorm has to offer. We hope you enjoy, soak up the sunshine and subscribe to our channel.

Hi Lucy.... I myself, and its just my opinion which we all have is: Same scenario wherever holiday hotspot you want to visit! all councils etc.etc.etc want the tourists to build up client base. However. Then come the lack of spending on the correct services. Affordable housing for locals, schools, sanitation, recreation, doctors, etc.etc.etc you get my drift. So I blame the council that run the towns. Bad management . Stopping or limiting the air b& b etc.etc. will just line the pockets of the big boys! hotels etc.etc. Then watch the hotel prices soar! Just my opinion of course.👌👌👌👍😘

My husband's uncle passed away recently and among his belongings were found photos of Benidorm in the 1960s. The world has changed too drastically - and not for the better in my opinion.

Great video Lucy,

I would rent my places out to longer term clients here In Gran Canaria but the issues with non payment/eviction stops me.
With Holiday lets you don’t run the same risks.

There needs to be a happy medium. Hotels are way too expensive for a lot of people including me, but I appreciate being here may affect the wonderful working people of Spain. We stay in 99% residential apartments with a pool on the Rincon and have always been made to feel welcome. I would hate Benidorm to become a place where we are unwelcome. This would be a sad day indeed x

Hi Lucy, There is a lot of development going on in Benidorm, especially the pontiente area. The prices are way out of the league with most people I suspect who live in Benidorm. In my opinion, developers rely on people buying them up from other countries to use themselves and rent out. If this is the case, then the local government should act on this and negotiate with the developers to build affordable accommodation for the locals.

Long term let prices are disgusting in Benidorm. I was being quoted 1500e pm for a one bed in the Poniente area plus 400e for a parking lot

A better bus service to outlaying areas such as Callosa would be a good starting point to help with workers accomadation.

the lack of local services, housing, job opportunities are not the fault of the tourists who bring billions into the Spanish economy each year. it's the councils and government fault that the infrastructure is not considered for local people, and the business owners paying staff peanuts as well. on the island of majorca there has never been adequate housing and jobs, nothing to do with tourism.

Only a matter of time before CBEEBIES tap you up to read the bedtime story, very calming voice. Keep doing what your doing, extremely helpful when choosing a hotel.

Hi Lucy. I visit Benidorm a couple of times a year and always stay in hotels. However next year I am contemplating going to Benidorm for a month or two. Do you or any of your viewers have any good recommendations on where to stay, or any do’s and don’ts while staying for a longer period of time?
