We are on the Fourth Sunday of Easter, when we celebrate the Risen Lord as the Good Shepherd.

In the Gospel, Jesus tells us that he is not only our pastor or shepherd, but the very “gate for the sheep.” Gate to where? Gate towards the Father, to verdant pastures of salvation.

Today is a good time to ask ourselves: Is Jesus the shepherd I am listening to? Is he the gate I choose to enter? Let’s pray that we may recognize his voice, so we may enter into life through him.

Cardinal Chito, if you happen to read this post I want you to know that until now I cant forget the last homily you had given at the Manila Cathedral. The homily about the salt, tower, and the light. To be honest; I just watched it from youtube, a very short clip yet fruitful. I have learned many things about it. Specially the one about the salt; it does not serve itself but rather the food. In my context as a teacher I must always learn how to be humble like a salt. The salt has done its purpose when it vanished and gave a remarkable taste to the food. The salt must first be dissolved in order to give. Me as a teacher I must be like one, someone who is ready to give so others may obtain valuable knowledge or experience from me. Another that I would like to give an emphasis is the light. You said that " when you have a problem dont dwell on it. Dont look at yourself and ask why me? Why me again?" but rather; go out do good to others by that we become a light that shines for others. If people around see it then they will imitate it. Often times cardinal I wrestle countless adversities in life. I am a liar if I will say that I can easily cope with it. I dwell on it many times. These problems bother me and it consumes most of my time. Problems hinder me to be productive. As much as I wanted to get away from it go out and do good but I cant. Its because I dont know what to do. I'm lost cardinal Chito. I often pray and asks for strength. I hope this problems will have solutions and I will be ready to take and go on for another bunch of challenges. Thank you cardinal chito. Your homily enlightened me. There are instances when the perplexing Situations run through my mind I just keep on watching that short part of your homily. Then I listened to it I feel radiant and vibrant to challenge myself to good instead of killing myself about the problems. Congrats on your promotion cardinal God bless always. Keep in my that the Filipino nation, all of us are always proud of you and love you so much. Pls dont forget to pray for us in this trying times at midst of global pandemic.
