How To Use The Greenworks Electric Dethatcher | Worth Every Penny

In this video I use the Greenworks electric dethatcher on my St. Augustine grass. I have been using my neighbor's dethatcher for about 2 years, and I finally got my own. Well actually I found it on the curb on trash nights. For being an electric lawn tool, i highly recommend it for pretty much any yard as long as you are willing to go back after the fact and rake up the thatch and bag it. For the retail price of $130 or so, i think its pretty good for a tool you will use once a year. You shouldn't pull the dethatcher in the reverse direction as it can mess up your grass, and potentially break the dethatcher. This is one of the coolest things i have found in the trash. Most of the things I find are sold pretty quickly, some items like this dethatcher I keep instead.

Have you seen the newer one that greenworks makes with a bag. It’s a couple years old but it’s suppose to be really good. Do you have a review with that one and what do you think about it?

Did my front yard not sure what setting it was but took forever some spots got that double 0 😂 live and learn we good though alot of rain coming this week in Central TX bagged 2 big 42 gal trash bags of dead grass though

Use mulching blades and bag it at the end if you’re worried about not getting all of it. That will make the residual small enough to be good food for the lawn.

This is the only video I could find someone doing this to st augustine. My lawn is very thick with thatch. Did you have any issues after using this tool?

How did you fix the clip behind the start button? I've got the same problem with mine, pulled it out after a year of non-use and I can't get it to start. So I opened up the handle and found that the clip was broken. Called Greenworks but they said I will have to replace the entire top handle.
