The UK left the European Union thinking it would gain sovereignty and economic independence. But nearly a decade later, many Britons regret their decision, and some are even asking if the UK should rejoin the EU. However, the real question is: Does the EU even want Britain back? From new trade agreements to stricter immigration policies, Brexit forced Europe to change in ways no one expected. Would the UK be welcomed back, or is the EU better off without it?

Let’s break down the 7 major changes Brexit triggered in the European Union!

EU after Brexit works better. The one writing the rules and now out of EU constantly complaines about the rules they wrote is now only a memory. Life in the EU goes on.

Sorry, but UK has showed us that they have no team spirit. We don't need the divas again.

crazy thing is France was right all those years ago to veto the UK joining the EU in the 1960's

The European Union operates significantly more effectively without the United Kingdom.

As an Irishman I was happy when the UK left the EU, it meant that the UK couldn't bully us around anymore. For the fist time in our history we had the upper hand when it came to negotiations with the UK because now we had the EU on our side of the table while the UK sat alone on theirs. It was the Irish who forced the UK into agreeing the Northern Ireland protocol before any Withdrawal Agreement could be signed. If you really want to know the root cause of Brexit then look no further than British arrogance and exceptionalism.

Now that UK is out of the EU Trump may decide that it should become the 53rd state of America 😳

The US has always been against a strong Europe post WW2.
France opposed the UK to join because it knew it was a US trojan horse of the US.
Still, as a French I felt sad when the UK left, for many reasons.
But now that EU is UKless, I believe it functions with less drama.
If the UK ever joins the EU again it will have to be in a long time... in order to strengthen it (the EU), not undermine it.

Fact is Britain NEVER truly belonged to the European project. It was there for maximum exports and minimum contribution. ALL Britain politicians were to point out all the draw-back of the EU and no one to praise the EU. So the present situation is easy to understand AND it tells another story. Britain may very well NEVER rejoin because of ITSELF and not by being rejected by EU countries (Although this may happen as a result of nasty British political games).
So? No systematic rejection by EU countries but rather - in the UK - an avertion for the EU (Unelected Bureaucrats) widely spread in the UK.
Britain has still not made up its mind. Look at Starmer's hesitations, Tory mess, Farage's Reform UK private party.
In the EU, people will be very attentive (loads of scrutiny) to UK's government decisions but so far a TOTAL ABSENCE OF DECISION, only posturing in the vain hope to win the next elections. Greetings from France

Funny thing is how the uk was out openly encouraging other member states to leave. That was pretty messed up.

It was ironic that the country, when an empire, took aways others autonomy; language, and religion did not want its autonomy interfered with.

The insular British always believed themselves superior to "the continent". However, this perceived status was based on an essentially parasitic and exploitative relationship with the colonies of their former empire.

Now that empire is long gone, the UK is in slow political and economic decline. The Commonwealth wasn't much of a substitute. Becoming an adjunct of the US wasn't any better an alternative either.

The UK was very like an annoying mother-in-law who comes to stay, enjoying hospitality while constantly complaining about her generous hosts.

The EU is well rid of the British...adieu Albion!

Next could or should be Hungary. If they don't play the EU game, they should leave.

It's like a marriage. Would you marry someone who is only with you because it makes economic sense and would leave if they felt they'd be better off financially without you?

I wonder if the UK realizes just how small it has become after Brexit. The UK is isolated, insignificant and irrelevant because of Brexit. The UK once sits at the head of the EU table, one of the big three, a powerhouse mover and shaker within the European Union and as a result the world especially the Commonwealth who gained access to the EU via the UK. The UK was an important chess piece on the chess board of global foreign policy but voted itself off the chess board. The UK sits in the corner barking for attention but is largely ignored. Brexiters had hoped that the UK would form a “Special Relationship” alliance with the United States and together they would dismantle the European Union and take over the world, only for the American Vice President to refer to them as some “Random Country”. There is no way I would take the UK back, they can never to be trusted.

This is simply what they asked for. Let them regret that for a couple century, than we can talk again...

Re-join the EU with the following conditions:
1. Will adopt the Euro as currency
2. Will join the Schengen area
3. Will place the EU flag alongside the UK's
4. Will install the EU ID card system
5. Will show road/transport network and speed using the metric system
6. Will forget about a unique extraordinary exception of rebates
7. Will apply EU regulations to its Crown dependencies (Isle of Man, Jersey, Guernsey), Gibraltar, plus the OST in Cyprus (Sovereign Base Areas of Akrotiri and Dhekelia)
8. Will join not as UK, but as England, Scotland, and Wales. (The EU will adopt Sc. Gaelic and Welsh as official languages). N.I. can decide whether they want to be part of one of those three countries or part of Ireland
9. The EU/EEA will universally use and apply British English spelling, pronunciation, and wording over American English (e.g., aluminium instead of alluminum, tomāto instead of tomäto, holiday instead of vacation) and the use of the Oxford comma in grammar

As a brit. Nothing has pissed me off more than the brexiteer clowns rambling on about how we're better off without the EU, then complaining about economy being so expensive here... 🤡🤡

as a EU citizen, why should we take back the UK, i have no gripe against the british people, i've been all over the UK for my work, however, taking back the UK would mean taking back the big mouth Farage, we've seen how he speaks in the EU parliament, Farage and the likes of him would again try to influence and rule the narative in EU decisions
THANX, BUT NO THANX

With the Reform Party waiting in the wings in the UK, there's no question of letting them back into the EU. Britain's decline will have to continue for the forseeable future.
