• Can you review my book?
I’m always happy to hear about upcoming books, but I’m afraid I don’t review self-published books and can only accept a small number of books for review. I enjoy reading classics, dystopian/apocalyptic novels, sci-fi, translated fiction and a variety of graphic novels, YA and contemporary literary fiction.

• Where is your accent from?
I was born and raised in the Netherlands, studied English Lit at Leiden University (also in the Netherlands), studied in the US for 3 months and have lots of American friends. I'm definitely not Irish or Canadian, I promise!

• Where do you live?
I live in London and have been here for 6 years now.

• How did you get into publishing?
I did publishing work experience, did a lot of networking and learned everything I know about social media from creating and running this channel. (P.s. You don't necessarily have to study Publishing or English to get a job in publishing!).

I lovvveeedd The secret History! It’ll be just so amazing to read it in Greece given that every character is crazy about Greek, the language, the myths, the gods, the greek’s way of lives etc.

"The Secret History" is NOT the read you want to bring to a pool/the beach. It's super dense and you were right when you said it'd be a challenge. It certainly was for me.

Loved the Fifth Season!! It was initially a bit rough since Jemisin throws you RIGHT in the middle and explains very little. It's absolutely the right narrative choice and I'm glad she did it, but it makes it a slower start because you spend a fair amount of time confused. Hope you love it!!

Ooh I liked the way you gave the results of this - it was like watching the Bachelor and waiting to see who was going to get that rose... (I imagine, I've never actually seen the Bachelor).

This is a very good idea! Simple but effective. I think I'll have to do this with some of the many many books currently waiting on my shelf, even though I'm not going on holiday any time soon. Hope you enjoyed Greece, it all looked sunny and fun. Can't wait for the reviews to come x

I loved The Bees! One of my favorites! Also, the Broken Earth trilogy is my favorite adult dystopian series (Fifth Season, Obelisk Gate, and Stone Sky)!

I absolutely love The Bear and the Nightingale and The Girl in the Tower!! But choosing books to come with me on holiday is so stressful 😅 I usually end up picking books that have been on my shelf for ages so I'll have no choice but to read them haha!

i also wanted to take 'Lullaby' to my trip and picked it from my library a couple of days ago. after trying the first chapter i absolutely could not put it down and finished it in one sitting!

The Secret History is not a summer type of book at all and definitely not for the beach, it’s too dense and intense for that imo. But since Greek and Greece is such a huge part of the story it’s very fitting to read in Greece. I read it inside on a rainy weekend on the couch and it was perfect. One of my favorite books of all time!!

I can relate to this SO much, I'm always scared of bringing a new book that I then don't enjoy for some reason? But in the end I hardly go on a trip without book shopping, so if there's any cool bookstores to see at my destination, I'm positive I will buy at least one book there, haha
