I do love the return of TIP but I must admit, I did prefer the more slap-dash nature of the ones Lewis would flip himself and just semi ramble to a random yog about a game…

Ok Yogs, here is the FINAL list of recommended baord games to try on the channel, and this time it is organised much better for reference.

Hope some of the ideas are helpful!

New games to try
1. Dune (Original Dune game. Check out the MCDM streams for ideas of how to play, and play WITH the first expansion so you can play with a 7th player - the ‘Tleilaxu’)
2. Axis and Allies (there is a new online version. One of the most iconic board games of all time)
3. Dune: A Game of Strategy and Diplomacy (simpler, quicker original Dune)
4. Lords of Waterdeep (Simple woker placement with great online version. Play with Scoundrals of Skullport expansion)
5. Champions of Midgard (Thematic slightly more complicated worker placement game. Play with the Valhalla expansion)
6. 878 Vikings (a Four player team war game of 2 v 2. Amazing! Bedgar would love this. Don’t bother with expansions)
7. Inis (how have you not played this game?! It’s amazing!)
8. Wingspan (Game of the year! Try it! It’s about Birds!)
9. Concordia (Trading in the mediterranean)
10. Bloodrage (Absolutely iconic game. Made by best game designer around today and this is his magnum opus. Must try at least once. Christmasy)

Co-Ops
1. T.I.M.E. Stories (Great story telling game. Really fun)
2. Black orchestra (Killing Hitler)
3. Space Cadets OR The Captain is dead (Hilarious. Maybe better playing live)
4. Legendary Encounters: Alien (One of the best Co-op games out there)
5. Nemises (Alien the board game but without the IP)
6. 7. Shadowrun: Crossfire OR Dragonfire (Ok so these games are AMAZING, particularly the Shadowrun version, but they are VERY hard. Difficult to find as the ‘revised edition’ shadorwun ‘Prime runner’ is no good as it changes a key part of the basic gameplay)

Games Yogs have played but should play again
1. Dune: Imperium (but play with the App:- Solo variant, two player variant, but but best is the ‘Arakeen Scouts’ variant which has random events and missions. There is also the new ‘Rise of Ix’ expansion which has an ‘epic’ mode for bigger games)
2. War of whispers but with ‘Keep your secrets’ and ‘To Each their own’ rules
3. Ticket to Ride (but playing with Alternative maps; specifically the Nordic countries for Christmas theme, or UK for British theme!)
4. Scythe (worth another try)
5. Root (Try with only 4-5 players and the original factions. Easier to learn)
6. Spirit Island (Possible best Co-op game out there)
7. 8. Star Wars Armada (for old times sake. Fantastic game)

Solos
1. Nemo's War (Solo fun)
2. This War of Mine (Video game version. Maybe not play at Christmas)
3. Navajo Wars (complex…)

Weirder and Esoteric
1. Trajan (looks horrific but is awesome. Lots of mini games in one. Could go wrong)
2. Castles of burgundy (Fun version of Trajan. Looks terrible but great gameplay)
3. T’zzolkin (worker placement with cogs)
