DroneNation for 10-7-2024: The DJI Neo comes to the US

6. The DJI Neo started shipping out to US flyers last week who ordered from directly from DJI. And this week people who ordered from Amazon will receive theirs Neo's by the end of the week.

7. Our own Marcus Crawford received a special Neo order recently and got a chance to test it out over the weekend. And the Neo got a firmware update last week to improve positioning.

8. FTI Consulting did a Audit of DJI Drones and found.

All first-party data transmissions stayed right here in the United States, nowhere else.

They confirmed that DJI uses certificate pinning, which verifies client-server connection through authentication and transport layer security, ensuring privacy between multiple applications.

DJI’s Restricted Network Mode allows users to switch things like map service off, which prevents any location sharing with third-party applications.

Most importantly, Local Data Mode for commercial users, First Responders, law enforcement, hobbyists – pretty much everyone that knows anything about drones – has been screaming from the rooftops about DJI’s local data mode. The ability to unequivocally eliminate outbound traffic from DJI drones works. No first-party or third-party traffic was found.


9. The Hover Air 1 Pro Max started arriving in the hands of the influencer's last. And the 8k mode doesn't seem to work on most of the quickhshots.
