The Sword of Milos delivers FP when an enemy dies just like the Blasphemous Blade does for HP, but you actually don't need to be involved at all. If a soldier dies to a wolf or something, you still get the rewards. If you get the runes, you get the HP or FP.

Here is a fun fact revolving around Malania and the cleanrot knights. If we look the item description of the Rotten winged sword insignia talisman, it states:
“A talisman depicting a raised prosthetic blade. An honor bestowed upon valkyries who serve the Rot goddess.”
Greatly raises attack power with successive attacks.
If a cleanrot knight lands multiple attacks on you they get this effect. You can see the red lines glowing on their bodies after landing multiple hits. Super cool that they included such a fine and small detail in the games. Truly shows the connection between Malania and her precious cleanrot knights. (Also, I only tested this on the cleanrot knight out side the prayer room site of grace. I didn’t check anywhere else like the Swamp of Aonia or such.)

Allow me to supply a tip. HP/FP stealing items stack. Serpent Curved Sword + Blasphemous Blade + Taker's Cameo = 9.5% +95 hp per kill and all are obtained in a single play through. NG+ or having a friend drop makes double blasphemous + taker's the go too, then stack Rykard's rune, 7% +80 hp, in. Each sword is 4% + 40, the cameo is 3% +30 the rune is 7% +80. 4+4+3+7=18% hp MINIMUM a kill, plus 190 hp. Bring bone knives and throw one at a deer or goat and proc the regen right there. Same rules apply for Sword of Milos + Sacrifical Axe + Ancestors Horn (or whatever it's called), but lesser and for FP a kill

Here's one you probably didn't realise, especially if you don't co-op often. When returning to your world after being summoned as a co-operator or hunter, if you've successfully fulfilled your duty you will return with FP and HP replenished by roughly 30 - 50%.

This is a great way to stay topped up in legacy dungeons between Graces if you can get consistent co-op action (where flask auto-refills after mob kills don't happen like they do in the overworld).

So, anything that restores HP/FP on a kill functions for _ANY_ creature death because they essentially trigger whenever you get Runes. Thus it's not just with your Mimic — these will even trigger if you're a passive observer of a battle between different enemies (like the Demi-Humans and Godrick Soldiers by Agheel Lake).

Things that this works for includes: Rykard's Great Rune, the Taker's Cameo talisman, and the Blasphemous Blade, Greathorn Hammer, & Serpent God's Curved Sword weapons for HP, as well as the Ancestral Spirit's Horn talisman, and the Sword of Milos & Sacrificial Axe weapons for FP.

Additionally as an extra tip — as a spellcaster, it's easy to trigger a spell and then swap to one of those weapons before the killing blow lands, and it'll restore the relevant amount of HP/FP. The Sacrificial Axe & Serpent God's Curved Sword are handy in that capacity as they're lightweight and can have ashes applied to them, so they aid in sustainability for legacy dungeons or wandering. If you can spare the weight, the bigger weapons restore more, but the versatility of those often end up being better for a build or specialization.

I had an older sorcerer build use the Sacrificial Axe & Serpent God's Curved Sword both on Cold with Bloodhound's Step in my main hand and casting exclusively from my offhand. It's an easy way to have the axe's FP drain pay for the offset of occasionally using BHS to dodge and have a more melee-focused caster build that can swap out to the curved sword to recover HP from kills instead. It works well for wandering without needing to top up with a flask before it's necessary or rest at a Grace and respawn enemies.

“And if you were standing on a podium or something you really wouldn’t want to do that”. Oh God flashbacks to frenzied flame parkour

You get the heals from just anything dying. With Blasphemous Blade or any other Heal on Kill weapon you just randomly get healed sometimes because a bird flies into a killbox or something falls down a cliff.

I stumbled upon the Theodorix trick on my first playthrough and was stunned at how badly those octopi messed him up! A great accident 😆

The blasphemous baldes taker affect can also be found on the serpent gods curved sword, most people never find this sword but it is rather fun to play around with and has a cool design, it dosent need to be drawn to get the buff either but unlike the blasphemous blade it has access to a huge range of ashes of war and makes for a good weapon when you need hp or are clearing out small camps.

With the magma Wyrm octopus fight cheese you showed there are at least two other ways to cheese the fight. You can also just put latenna up on a rock out of reach and chill out.

9:00 If you’re on “low health” you probably won’t be able to spend the 600 hp to summon the mimic. A heal incantation or the Finger Maiden puppet are better options.

That Theodorix tip is going to change my life. Thanks for that - literally the only boss in Mountaintops along with the Death Rite Birds I skip more often than not

To bad there aren't more Octopusses near some of the Open World Bosses. Something similar does work with the first Deathbird in Limgrave. You can let the nearby Trolls do the fight for you. While they won't attack each other they can still damage each other. But with how weak that Deathbird is its faster to just kill him yourself.^^

Hey cool I got a mention! Thanks for that!

U can also trigger the blasphemous blade effect from suicidal mobs without u hitting them like the mobs at mohgwen palace the ones that give u the bleed effect when they blow up .

Curious thing to try then with the Mimic Tear and I'm curious to see if it works... summon the Mimic Tear without the Blasphemous Blade, then equip it while it goes out to attack and see if you still get the healing effect. I have a feeling it's the fact that the enemy dies around you that is triggering the healing effect more than anything else.
