Exactly. I'm 40 years old and live in the center of beautiful Heidelberg Germany. I inhabit a flat with 2 students, to save money. I can walk to work (ICU nurse), but I have an old used bike for less then 200 bucks. I don't need to travel. Heidelberg is paradise. No car, no kids. I only work part time so I have enough money for my hobbies: Bouldering, Running, Gaming on Sony PlayStation and Nintendo Switch (when our house burns down, I can't lose those games, I own them in the cloud). Life is beautiful nowadays, why would I waste it at work. I only buy cloths when I really need them, mostly cheap.

You can eat healthy for 5 bucks a day (coffee included). I consider whole grain pasta to be healthy, but you should have them split up in to maximum 2 meals a day, and with a good amount of healthy plant seed oils (I prefer olive). Other than that I eat nuts and vegetables. Only drink water, coffee, and tea without milk or sugar. If you're vegan have your vit.B12 and a good source of omega-3 fatty acids (like algae oil), maybe vit.D if you're a nightshift worker or not out in the sun much, and you're good. I'm 40 years old, athletic, everyone thinks I'm much younger. Take good care of your bodies folks and enjoy life 💟

I would like to add one stress management! ...Stress can kill! In today's fast-paced, multi-tasking world, it's easy to get stressed out. Meditation & breathing techniques definitely can help! 😊 Remember to breathe!!

Love this channel! Would love to hear an episode on how gut health relates to brain health and how gastrointestinal issues can interfere.

Also, exactly how anti-depressants work and how long it's safe to be on them.

Thanks for all the great content!

I’m 84 and auto immune 🙄But i come from era that cooks food from scratch and grows some of it. I weigh 7st and like walking but now starting my 4th. . autoimmune disease vasculitis 🥺it isn’t always easy especially when Drs. and rheumatologist don’t recognise what’s going on despite classic symptoms
I’m going to make 2 pots of plain yoghurt now because that’s what I do beside making bread, growing veg etc. But as sleep is tricky I nap after lunch to give my back and legs a rest 🤗Love the vids. Dig deeper if you have a chance. Thanks

👍Great video! So true Docs. There's health history in my family with poor choices. My brother, father smoked & passed with heart-attacks at young age. My mother had a pace-maker put in. My baby sister had 3 stents(sp?) put in heavy smoker & drinker... I've been stir-crazy nor going for walks due to sprained ankle. Still I'll get back on track, trying to eat right not to show my Dr(ha-ha) but me that I want too. All comes to only 2 choices... Do you want to take care of yourself or.... you do not want to take care of yourself...??? I want too take care of myself. Best to you all & Drs taking time sending this video out. God Bless.

Great video! I think it’s important to remember that any one of these things can do you in or ruin your life. Smoking is an obvious killer all by itself. So is chronic stress (I am at the point where I would argue that those people who cause chronic stress should probably be charged with assault).

And obviously, two ways to increase your health span are to laugh a lot and to watch Talking With Docs.

"Healthspan". Get that good new word inya. Lots more conversation these days about quality of life in old age. Also, there seems to be lots of research into the more serious chronic diseases and more attention on previously arcane subjects like microbiome. So no excuse for sinking into the couch and sticking with old habits. Thanks docs.

Okay... This goes with your video to an extent. Shout out to Dr. Zalzal. Had 3 chicken wings for dinner and thought of you. Moderation. Also, thanks to both of you... I'm 2 weeks out from my TKA. It's been quite an emotional roller coaster with pain management being a challenge. Great team of health care professionals... Feel blessed. You both are an encouragement. I like your focus on healthy foods, supplements and lifestyle. Video on combating INSOMNIA. I'd really like to beat it. Thanks again😊

I'm watching just after midnight, because during pandemic I realized I'm simply not at my best until noon and I'm okay with that! I exercised and ate healthy today and will get enough sleep.

I would love to see a video on ra treatments…Humira especially….my cholesterol tests high since being on it …with calcium score not showing any plaque…is the cholesterol truly high or does it make the test inaccurate…because cholesterol takes awhile to change…I have had the cholesterol drop 51 points after stopping Xeljanz in 20 days…seems very strange. While I only took that med for 30 days. Also another video suggestion ra and oesteoporsis…meds for that as well. You guys are great we all need to hear health facts…nice to add the humor. I am sure your patients appreciate you…like we all do..

Great topic, great discussion. This video applies to everyone, no matter your age, current health, or other factors. Thanks for making oftentimes complex information accessible to non-health professionals and doing it in a light and engaging format. Two have great rapport on the camera!
