okay, so i'm working on making a map to restore an archway to a leftover, innaccessible sewer area and this helped alot to get me to learn the basics of texturing it properly

Is there a way to apply a correctly stretched texture for stretched (non-rectangular) blocks (vertex/clicking a block twice in a 2D view) other than making a new texture?

I found a great example of a small area in a texture used for detailing in L4D2. In the Dark Carnival campaign the walls in the bumper cars area look like some trees. It's actually part of a big ad for a film festival and some orange juice

Nice tut that made me rethink textures and how I'm using them. With the stone arch though, is there a reason why you shouldn't continue wrapping the texture around instead of copying it from the front?

Mapping in this program takes far to long time for my patience. I'm looking forward to the next source engine and hoping they'll improve and make it easier to map for CS:GO.

Will you do tutorials for source 2, starting all over again? Or if the new hammer is very similar just say fuck it and continue with hammer 1?
