What is your favorite small pond jerk bait? One that doesn’t dive too deep for a shallow pond

I was catching them yesterday on a drop shot (shad colored fluke on the hook about 24" above shaky head with a 4" Junebug worm as the weight). None of the fish bit the fluke. All (3) bit the shaky head (roof of the mouth). 52ish degree water and roughly 40-45' deep. Edges of ditches in creek arms. Hope this helps. 👍🇺🇸

You explained how the pioneers of the sport found fish Before our modern day electronics. There was a time when all the O.G.'s had was a flasher, they had to know the seasonal movements of the fish and locate the forage. Today's "Pros" wouldn't last a few hours against past Professional Anglers Like Parker, Roland, Brauer, Fritz or Dance. These anglers knew where fish would be located and positioned during each season and weather pattern, there Wasn't Forward Facing Sonar. There Wasn't Any Modern Sonar. For anyone who's New to fishing, You DON'T "Need" electronics, study the Fish. Great video

Thanx Tyler. I hope that thing your making isn't a bass whistle. I'm not falling for that again! Its great when that shazam moment happens. I don't travel around the country so its easier for me to figure what the bass are up too.

Just a side note. Knowing what type of largemouth bass are in a particular lake changes where they are located too. Northern strain will react differently to Florida strain bass under specific weather conditions. I personally have 2 lakes that I fish constantly. One has northern strain and the other Florida strain and where they are located on a given day is totally different.

Yesterday I was still catching bass in shallow laydowns around 5-8' and the water temp was 51°. At what temp will they stop being there and moving deeper?
