You're right about bookshops, Carrie,

Because they're all slowly going out of business, there was one opposite my sixth form college in London that sold second-hand books for free - LITERALLY - you go in, you browse for anything you think interests you (and take as many as you want) and all you had to do was show the bloke at the front desk what you're taking out, who would complement you on your choice, and leave without the need to pay a single penny or a deadline to take it back, it was yours from then on out.

I asked the man who owned the bookstore why you didn't have to pay for anything, he told me that all the books were his and that he loved reading all his life, but at his old age and declining health he wanted "his story", as it were, to be shared with others. He at one point had to move the shop two blocks down due to the price of rent.

The man apparently passed away during the summer holidays last year, so when my friends and I went back, the shop was empty and cleared out, with a sign on the door saying "bookstore closed, thank you for your help". I never learnt the man's name, but now I wish I had, sorry if this comment went off-track a bit...

The Angel Fire series by L.A Weatherly are FANTASTIC and puts a real twist on what society perceives and the connotations of 'angels'. Plus there's a bit of the romance in there too so why wouldn't you want that?!
