I really recommend the audiobook of Braiding Sweetgrass as well - Kimmerer Wall is a great narrator and storyteller! I would take long walks and listen to her narration in between reading the physical book.

I was also in a reading slump particularly the last couple of weeks of June as I had a lot going on and didn't feel like trying to squeeze in as much reading as I normally do. Best of luck with your July reading plans. I have several books I want to get to including some ARCs and other books needing my attention. I really enjoyed Braiding Sweetgrass and highly recommend the audiobook version. I have my eye on some books to get to but depends on how long it takes to get them in the mail and what I'm in the mood for. I am going to be doing a bit of traveling in July though don't have any specific books I plan to take for those trips... the joys of being a mood reader some times means that I can't seem to set a specific TBR.

The Book of Gothel sounds really good. Also been seeing a lot of buzz around Braiding Sweetgrass which you don't normally get around non-fiction. Hoping I can pick that one up at some point. Hope you enjoy your reads this month.

So I'm a new subscriber and omg you have such a big tbr!!! Your monthly tbr is probably the size of yearly lol. I've only read 3 books this year so I'm really hoping to get a few out of the way before college starts again in the fall. The biggest of that group being Priory of the Orange Tree, which is a literal brick so...

After just finishing Kushiel's Chosen I can't wait to get to Kushiel's Avater but I want to read at least Her Majesty's Royal Coven before that since I'll have to return that to the library soon. But seriously, I think you might enjoy Kushiel's Legacy: beautiful writing, an extremely strong female protagonist, very complex political intrigue, a queernormative main setting, and my favourite m/f romance (not straight as the protagonist is bisexual): slow burn, enemies to lovers, opposite attracts, bodyguard. Also, despite the length very compulsively readable.
