Yep it works. I thought I could speedrun it by copying the user's ID, but winrar actually has a string-finding feature where if you remember one of the words, you can narrow it down pretty quickly and find the person you're looking for. Thanks for the tutorial man, I really needed it.

You can always /ban there id in a server with just yourself, then rightclick there name in the bans list and hit message, ive done this so many times and its saved my ass on a few of them

To mend the 'friend requests' thing, heres a trick that I just discovered recently, it works for non-deleted accounts but it might work for deleted accounts too.

1. Make a server and add a mod bot such as carlbot
2. Do !ban (UID)
3. Go to banned users in the setting tabs
4. Right click and select either profile or messages
5. BAM you can now open their messages!

This helped me open an old friend's DMs (I did the discord lookup, and tbh I really didn't want to add them just to look at some old messages) and I hope it can help y'all too :D

Doesn't work anymore. Neither site can fetch deleted user's name and /ban command doesn't work on deleted users either... As if Discord purposefuly doesn't want you to re-open dms with them.

Holy hell you don't understand how much this is a life saver for me, I won't specify why exactly this is important (yet) because it's really personal and somewhat traumatic but I will after I restore a dm I had with someone
