Data shows abuse of healthcare workers in Victoria

More than 9,000 healthcare workers across Victorian hospitals reported incidents of abuse, threats and assaults in the last financial year, according to documents tabled in parliament.

Hospitals are banning patients who display terrible behaviour towards hospital staff.

These days they call anyone who raises a concern and/or criticises them aggressive.

With the recent articles concerning the wide-spread use of CCTV cameras, one wonders why these are not extensively used within aged care facilities to protect staff and patients alike?

A lot of these incidents are drug and alcohol related, I doubt this will ever be remedied 😵‍💫

Crunch the numbers further, don't just give absolute numbers, show what the percentage of patient interactions resulted in an adverse interaction, then you can see if there are areas with a greater rate of violence rather than just more patients though the door.

But the people illegally bashed and jailed for being outside, they don't matter. Because they aren't govt workers, they don't get justice.
