It's not just Mexico.
It's everywhere.
Happened to me in London.
I was hosting a very large charity benefit after I flew into town from the US.
I drank a glass of champagne. That was it.
Next thing you know I found myself on the floor of the bathroom stall passed out.
I was mortified.
I felt absolute shame.
It wasn't until later that I realized someone had drugged my drink.

The first thing that came to my mind when they said she was unconscious with a gash in her head and they required $4k to stitch her up was that they drugged them, intentionally injured her, then “found” her and charged them way too much. Ultimately I think they were drugged and attacked for hospital money

We went to Cancun a couple years ago. First night, I had one drink. It was the worse night of my life. I thought my head was going to explode. Not like a handover, just extremely painful. I never had another drink. Stay away from all alcohol. Not just in Mexico. It happens everywhere.

I’m Mexican and this is scary. I just got back from Cancun and I’m barely seeing this video . Seriously terrifying. I wish they would name the name of the resort to kind of have an idea of where it’s at. I’ve heard it’s certain parts of Mexico .

I went to Mexico last year; as soon as we arrived we saw a lady bleeding severely from her leg, obviously in shock. She had slipped and fallen on stairs and sliced her knee open to the bone. Hotel staff didn't do a thing. My friend who is a lifeguard administered first aid that potentially saved the woman's life. When she later returned she told us that she said to pay over $5000 USD in the Mexican hospital and when she returned home, she had an infection and had to get a minor surgery. Mexico is a beautiful country, but I would advise tourists and travellers to be cautious and buy travellers insurance.

That is not only in Mexico. That happened to my brother and cousin in Miami Beach. They went to have dinner at a pizza place, ordered a drink and blacked out. My brother woke up at 4 am in the parking lot of a CVS. My cousin woke up the next day at noon in the ER of a hospital. Neither one could remember anything.

Im mexican, and I feel awful when I see this videos! How is it possible that our authorities allow such things?! Tourists bring money and prosperity to the region! Hotels should be better controlled! How can a Hotel ask for 4000 usd to give medical attention?! In that case, they should ask for an insurance number or something like that! and by the way, such a procedure in Mexico does NOT costs 4000 USD.

I love Mexico and I go there frequently. I think Mexicans, in general, are extremely welcoming and lovely people. However, the amount of corruption and ineptitude of the government is unfathomable. Further, tourists are at risk no matter the country. I have the luxury of being fluent in Spanish and I don't hang in touristy areas. I wouldn't advise to completely avoid Mexico, but for now, I'd avoid these types of resorts until they clean up their act and the government takes greater responsibility. You can rent amazing Airbnb accommodations for a fraction of the cost anyway.

This hit home. I went to Cuba in November and on the first night I had a beer and woke up in a different room than my original hotel room, I felt weird and very scared so I went to the front desk and begged them to tell me who’s room it was but they denied to tell me. I couldn’t watch the whole video it just made me think of that night and to this day I still don’t know what happened

Strange .Elijah snow and his wife went to Mexico to celebrate a 10year anniversary and her fire-fighter husband was murdered. So many people are killed or hurt in these resorts and yet trip adviser will not let anyone leave a warning about what happens there.

My husband and I stayed at the royal Imperial Maya and it was top notch!! NEVER got sick, never had any problems at all. It was a beautiful place with excellent service. I don't doubt that some funny business can go on, but that was not our experience. People forget that when you are in the sun, and drinking, one can get dehydrated very quickly. It is close to the equator. Which make can make it even worse for sunstroke. Drinking in the heat, when you are not used to it can be dangerous. I don't think that these resorts have an "agenda' . They want people to visit.

"She had 5 shots in 2 hours, so she was drinking heavily."

I'm always surprised by what non-alcoholics define as heavy drinking lol.
