Okay no joke this is definitely your best video so far... Turning conventional fashion myths on their heads and giving your viewers the confidence to embrace both their own bodies and styles! Fair play to you Gemma, and best of luck with the 4 week course 😁

Excellent video Gemma! I totally agree. I have found so many gems by shopping second hand and I get unique finds. Money can't buy style. Who wants to look like everybody else anyways ? I also find that I am naturally attracted to the the colors that suit me best. They are the basics of my wardrobe and match with almost everything. I also avoid brands with large logos. They look tacky in my opinion.

I love what you said about being stylish vs being fashionable! Great point!

They all are important 👍 especially the shift „dressing for a particular body type“ and the „ wardrobe essentials“ that supposed to serve for everyone

Thank you! I am so fed up with all these "essentials" list that is the SAME for everybody!!!! It used to make me inadequate because I don't like wearing blazers ( short jackets suit me better) or white blouse: maybe to go out if you have nothing else as they can be very elegant but not for everyday as they need to be washed each time you wear them!

I don't own a black blazer... shock horror. I feel like everyone tries to tell you that a black blazer is a must have for any wardrobe & I sometimes think about getting one just because of that reason. But I have never missed having one or thought loads about how I need one to wear with this or that outfit. So I totally agree with that point of not needing all the "essentials". Great video :D love from Munich!

Thank you, Gemma. At long last, the truth. Especially about colour, cream is my colour, not white. I have a short neck, so collared shirts swallow me. Important for everyone to dress the body they have, not the ideal body as espoused on social media. Thanks, once more, Gema.

Loved this video! and so agree with the white shirt - I bought one recently because so many bloggers were saying they were a must - I have worn it ONCE! It is just not ME! while I like white as a colour, and even suit it, the look of that white shirt just feels too officey, I prefer a denim shirt instead. I'm glad it was wasn't expensive because it really was not a good buy for me! doh! we live and learn eh LOL also hardly have anything black in my wardrobe, nor will I ever want to add anything black....I want to live life in colour :-)

Thanks for this as it was perfect timing. These things are what I have come to realize over the past year on my journey in curating my wardrobe. I'm basically going back to the styles I was wearing to begin with. I'm the extremely rare person who doesn't wear or like jeans, and ironically neither does my son. I find them extremely uncomfortable and stiff (even broken in ones) and the front zip adds way too much bulk on my relatively small mom pooch. Instead I wear either pull up comfy pants or side zip pants (never front zip) as they tuck in the tummy and look slimming. I'm lucky enough to find several right pairs from Everlane last year that are cotton.

Another thing I've come to realize is this oversized trend doesn't look good on my hour glass 5'3 frame. Way too much bulk for my frame and looks silly. Instead I prefer cashmere crew necks like you.

I find blazers impractical for my lifestyle and workplace and not very comfortable. Instead I'm obsessed with this relaxed cardigan trend and want to curate more high quality pieces.

And I'm with you regarding white button down shirts. Not applicable for everyone and mine always sits in my wardrobe.

Lastly, I simply do not look good in white or light coloured bottoms. I bought a pair of white jeans (for summer) and blue jeans last year and I feel it was wasted money along with a few other expensive pieces I bought, thinking they were must haves for a capsule wardrobe. Kicking myself over the wasted money.
