The Negg Egg Peeler - Tested and Reviewed!

Oh sure, you can hard boil eggs and peel them perfectly every single time, right? No? Neither can I. Turns out that cracking and peeling hard boiled eggs is harder than it looks. Which is why the Negg is so cool: It's a little plastic cup that you drop hard boiled eggs into with a bit of water, shake up, and then have ready to peel eggs just a few seconds later.

If it actually works, of course. Does it? I hard boiled some eggs and gave the Negg a fair shake (ha! see what I did there?) to see if I could get perfect eggs and... well, you'll need to watch the video to find out how it worked!

I have one.  It's leaking because you didn't snap the lid back on.  I also used a bit more water.  A lot of times the shell just fell off.  Never has peeling hard boiled eggs been easier!  Love it!

It's quite an old technique, my aunt used to peel hers by putting it in a coffee mug, saucer on top and shake.

One question I have before I try mine..can the eggs be warm when trying the Negg?

I used a similarly shaped jelly jar! It worked really good. Cost me 99cents 😂

What a ripoff. I do the exact same thing using a thick ice tea glass. Cost, zero.

Fresh eggs, rinse in cold water, drain. Shake eggs in pot. Peel, done...

Can't you just crack it and stick it in a sealed jar, shake it, and get the same effect?

Something I did not hear you mention is to when boiled to drop the eggs into iced water. I believe this is in the instructions and helps make eggs easier to peal any way and stop the grey around the yolk. I am in the U.K and they are prohibitively expensive. They cost about £18 here so I think that is about the same as America but then add on £24 Postage?

The trick is how you boil them. If you boil them right, any method will work. Leave eggs in the fridge, bring water to a rolling boil, putt in eggs and boil for 13 minutes after you bring it back to a boil. Then straight to an ice bath for 15 minutes. My 4 year old can peel them by hand perfectly without help when they're boiled this way.

If you snapped it closed it probably wouldn't have leaked.

You can do the same thing with the side of your counter. I always have perfect eggs.

I used to use a small jar. But, you're right.. women LOVE their kitchen gadgets, so I had to get one of these.. IN RED! I make egg salad about once a week and LOVE my egg peeler :-)

why not use any round plastic cylinder, sippy cups ? I know you got a review unit so u have to "try" to show some cons and then leave a general great positive note about the unit, but u have to admit this is absolutely waste of money. I imagine the replies to my comment will be positively reinforcing the product in one way or another.

Haha. Why would I buy this if I can do the same thing with any container with a lid?

Just did two dozen eggs WORKS very well!. Seems to have a very robust design and construction, should last. Wish I had got this years ago.

So, you already have a glass on the counter there. Why not put a little water and the egg in it. Hold any kind of plastic lid on and shake that. I must be some kind of GENIUS! Save your money people . . . SCAM!

At least follow the directions to show if it works as advertised.

There's a newer, better version of this that holds up to 5 eggs at one time. Not this brand. It's called The Egg Stripper by Grania (amazon has it).
