Land is the most expensive part of owning a home. A small piece of land big enough for this tiny house and a single parked car will still be out of reach for most people. Besides, most communities won't allow lots that small.

Great idea but $10, 000 is a joke. You would need to have it shipped, cleared land, foundation built, water lines run, solar panels, solar generation system, heat and air, appliances, and whatever else you would need before moving in. All of that would bring it to at least $100, 000 if not more, depending on where you want to set it up. It looks great but is not available for a lot of people today.

Can it take a heavy snow load? Perhaps a structure with an appropriate roof needs to be built over it. If the roof has no slope then it will want to sag in the middle. Soon it will become a bird bath if it remains sealed. Me thinks the ten thousand is just the start before the cost begins to spiral higher.

Knew it was too good to be true, the $10, 000 house that costs $60, 000 plus. Im assuming that does not include the powerwal or the solar roof either. Lol.

One must own the lot where the house is to be installed. Consider the water line + electrical / solar panels for the lights. Sewerage system must be done before the house installation. Also, some countries requires building permits for building or repair works. Cost depends on location.

It would be funny if these things could be considered 'sheds' (vs a building) if they are built on skids and do not have city electric/water hookups. Then you wouldn't even have to pay property tax.

If its true then I guess Elon Musk solved the problem of homelessness in America. House is one of the biggest investment not everyone can afford or payoff in his or her lifetime. Yes people do own homes and automobiles but not paid off. A loan of 30 or over 30 years with interest is ridiculous. This Elon Musk move may bring real estate values and rental income considerably down if implemented successfully by the government.
