Ottoman Complex in Payas was constructed to provide accommodation for merchants traveling to nearby Aleppo, and for the pilgrims on the way to Mecca. In addition to Caravanserai, Complex has many units such as a Mosque, a Hammam, a Madrasa etc. For this reason it is called a Kulliye. This is the biggest Kulliye constructed in Anatolia.
