Happy memories...in late 1995 I was 21 and spending four months studying at the Fachhochshule Wiesbaden (back home I was a senior graphic design student at Ohio State, this was my first and so far only trip overseas). My roommate had the current hits compilation CD from Bravo magazine containing a ton of rave and EDM singles I'd never heard of, and this track was one of the highlights. It reminds me of being young and optimistic and relatively carefree...boy, how things have changed in almost 30 years. I love this song.

Waren das noch Zeiten! Ohne Zukunftsängste und Kriesen und politischen Wahnsinn. Das kommt nie wieder wenn es in Deutschland so weitergeht. Ein Glück das ich die Zeit so richtig genossen hatte.
Schade das so Technosahnestücke kaum mehr in Orginal gespielt werden.

Das Video lief 1995 etwa vier mal in der Stunde auf VIVA.
Hatte damals ganz neu VIVA auf dem Fernseher und zur Anfangszeit lief VIVA dann stundenlange bei mir.
So kam es dann, dass ich "Are You Ready To Fly" nach etwa 10 Wochen hunterte Male gehört hatte. Man müsste annehmen, dass mir das Lied mit der Zeit zum Hals raus hing - hat es aber nie !
Darum ist dieser Song für mich noch heute untrennbar mit dieser Zeit und dem damaligen Lebensgefühl (war damals 13) verbunden.

Kurzer Ausflug in die 90er: Dune, Expedicion und Forever, die besten 3 CDs, die ich bis heute aus dieser Zeit besitze.
Leider gibt es heute nur noch Kommerz-Schrott und keine wirklich aussergewöhnlichen Perlen mehr.
Vermisse heute die Kreativität und Expermientierfreude dieser Jahre!

Yup I just wanted to say I too have goosebumps listening to the beginning of this track after who knows how long. I used to listen to this kind of music when I was in my teens and it got me ready for my love of Drum and Bass. Still has a place in my heart. Amazing music.

The feeling to fly like a bird, just like ten.col. Ivo Nutarelli, the solista of the Frecce Tricolori once give his opinion about aerobatics, is so beautiful that I never will forget this.
