Don't forget air dry foam clay. I was convinced to make a headbase out of that. It softens with water. Hoping to remake it with traditional materials.

i use cardboard for masks that I'll probably only use a couple times and then keep them on display. it's fine for that but to frequently wear it is a hazard and it'll likely fall apart.

Oh and Styrofoam getting burned by hot glue can create toxic fumes

Cardboard and papermache can be used for temporary wear masks if you coat the inside with some kind of sealer like shelack or packing tape. I would not sell these however. But for personal use for a wear or two, I don't see the harm.

For the paper mache part, on the inside, if you cover it with tape or clay, then the black mold will have no space to grow, stopping the place mold. I put tape all over the inside and it worked! No black mold :)

Actually, I have a head made from paper mache. It's just also sealed with resin. It's lighter than other resin bases.

Another thing about styrofoam, when heated it will release toxic chemicals! So don’t heat up styrofoam - and also, if you get food to go, put it on a plate before reheating it :) chemicals and food shouldn’t mix

Imma try using packaging foam i got from helping unpack guitars

The foams ok not bad but the foam bags were so soft and not too fragile it could easily get a tear but thats why they invented tape

A lot of Russian makers use the paper mache technique and for the base to not absorb sweat they cover it with a layer of epoxy resin

I love using insulation for my fursuits. It’s very soft and looks like cotton candy!

Before you go to metal's for your projects, keep three things in mind.

1. Thin plates can bend and dent easily, running a lot of Work with one mistake.

2. The thicker the material, the heavier it gates, and remember, you will have a lot of material pressing on your neck, so don't overestimate how much you could carry.

3. Lightweight Metals, like Aluminium and Titanium, are very hard to work with, especially in this dimensions, when working im a home grade workshop.

Best solution, using a almost completely hollow endo skeleton out of a hard plastic and then a thin layer of metal on top, using cloth for the inside of the mouth part's.

I’ve made a paper fursuit before. Inside the head I usually put tape to prevent it getting wet. I also avoid wearing it for too long :3

Good to know EVA foam wasn't on the list cause I wanna make a fursuit out of that someday.
